My skin care products have not changed much, I have however increased both my physical and chemical exfoliation. (I had decreased it a bit during the past few months due to some sensitivity issues). I notice I am using either Josie Maran's Aragan Oil or Tarte's Maracuja Oil as a moisturizer more often as well. I have dry skin so sometimes I will even use Egyptian Magic over night to perk up the skin.
My Daily Face:
Quick snapshot while running out to the store |
- Josie Maran's tinted moisturizer in the shade Butter (Good for a dark/light or a light/medium) as well as the concealer that came with it in the QVC kit. *This concealer works well, however, I noticed after a few hours that my mascara does smudge under the eye a bit since I don't set it*
- Anastasia's Brow Gel in Brunette or YBF Universal Brow Pencil (Sold on HSN)
- Tarte's Park Ave. Princess Bronzer
- Tarte's Amazonian Clay Blushes in either Charisma, Peaceful, Exposed or Dollface
- Tarte's cream shadow in either shimmering bronze or champagne pink
- Tarte's Amazonian Clay pot eyeliner in Indigo
- Mally Roncal's eyeliner in Sailor
- Urban Decay's Eyeliner in Deviant or Binge
- Hourglass' Film Noir mascara in Black
- MAC Lipstick in either in Blankety or Snob
- Tarte Lip Surgences in either in Adored, Perky, and Sweet
I decided to revisit some of the products in my stash while adding some products I haven't gotten much use out of previously. I have kept my routine so simple, yet I really love the look I have created. I mostly use a Lip Surgence on the lips, but some days I do want a more opaque lip. I also play with my liner going from thin to thick and sometimes creating small flicks or more dramatic wings.
Basically, I go for a glowy face, a wash of color on my lids that still has a gleam due to the cream shadow and a bold liner on the top line. I use my Sigma E05 as always to apply the liner. I have tried other brushes, but they seem so awkward, I don't bother anymore. I am glad I have two E05's. The brightness of the blue eyeliner brings out the greener shades in my eyes. I try and keep my cheeks and lips rather neutral as well so that the main focus is on the eyes.
I liked this look because it doesn't require many brushes at all. It is quick and simple for running around for day wear.
Some random April favorites were:
- My Birthday!
- Spending Time with my Seester!
- Taking my Dad to Sephora with my Seester and him asking "Why are there feathers on those eyelashes" :)
- Smart Pop Popcorn and "No More Naked Popcorn" seasoning
- The One Tree Hill Finale
- The movie Friends with Benefits
- No book last month, as I was really busy.
- My favorite song of the month was a tie between Gavin DeGraw's I Don't Wanna Be (Due to the OTH Finale and Tyler Hilton's Loaded Gun for the same reason)
