FOTD: 8/8/2012 Bronze, Rose Gold and Sheer Reds

Hi everyone!  Still working on the camera/lighting for pictures.  I hope to get it down by this weekend.

I changed up my look a lot today....the most important thing I wanted to share is that the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation which claims to work for dry or oily skin was really drying out my face this week.  I am not sure why...but I switched that up and the rest of my face as well.

Face:

  • Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer (used yesterday as well)
  • Josie Maran Tinted moisturizer, SPF 30, Medium
  • Josie Maran The concealer that came with the tinted moisturizer (it covers very well)
  • Tarte's Amazonian 12  hour clay blush in Natural Beauty
  • Benefit's Hoola bronzer for contour

Eyes:  I wanted a really copper/rosy gold look today on my eyes.

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin all over my lids.
  • Lorac Unzipped Pallette I used: Undercover as a hightlight and inner corner highlight, Unbelievable  on my mobile lid and with a pencil brush under the lower lash line, Unconditional in the crease, then I did a very soft cut crease with Unbridled and the Sigma E05 liner brush I love so much.  I took a fluffy Sephora crease brush and blended it together.
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay Pot liner in Bronze on the upper lash line and halfway across the bottom lash line.
  • I curled my lashes with the Shu Uermera lash curler and then applied two coats of Mally Roncal's volumizing mascara.

Lips: No lip liner or lipstick today really.  I used Staniac by theBalm.  I don't know how many colors this comes in but my beautiful friend Julia sent me one in red and I love love love it.  It is really sheer and just makes your lips look flushed, like you kissed Christian Grey or something (just kidding)....maybe

I wish I had gotten a good pic of this look because it was so fresh faced and pretty without looking overdone at all. The red blush and lip were both sheer and just gave it a youthful appearance.  I will definitely repeat this look and get some good pictures.

FOTD: 8/7/2012

I am having problems uploading the pictures I took after work, but will add them when I can.

Today I really prepped my skin because it just was so dry and dehydrated.  I exfoliated and moisturized really well, used my new holy grail eye product the 100% Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream from 100% Pure.

Face:

Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12 hour foundation 1/2 light and 1/2 medium
  • Tarte's Maracujua Concealer in light under the eyes and medium on any imperfections or hyper pigmentation
  • Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer (used yesterday as well)
  • Hourglass concealer in Pearl (after I did my eye makeup to brighten the under eyes
  • Tarte's Amazonian 12  hour clay blush in Dollface
  • Benefit's Hoola bronzer for contour

Eyes: First I applied the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Greed all over my lids.  Then I used the Too Faced Naked Pallette (which is so gorgeous and needs more love from me.) I swept In the Buff over my entire lid, Birthday Suit on the mobile lid, Pink Cheeks in the inner corner, and Like a Virgin in the crease. I used a small angled brush to smoke out some of the color Stilleto along my top lash line, and used a pencil brush to sweep Like a Virgin under my lower lashes.  I used the Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero along my top lash line right in the lashes.  I didn't use anything in the waterline today.  I curled my lashes with the Shu Uermera lash curler and then applied two coats of Mally Roncal's volumizing mascara.

Lips: I used the Too Faced perfect lips pencil, filled them in and applied Syrup by MAC over that.  Throughout the day I touched up with Tarte's Adored Lip Surgence. (I need to remember to throw my lip stick in my purse.

FOTD: Yesterday DUH!

Yesterday I started an exciting new chapter in my life and was very strategic with my makeup application.

So strategic in fact, that I forgot to take a picture! I will try and remember today though.

So...what I wore on my face yesterday:

Face:

  • Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12 hour foundation 1/2 light and 1/2 medium
  • Tarte's Maracujua Concealer in light under the eyes and medium on any imperfections or hyper pigmentation
  • Laura Gellar Balance and Brighten in regular for a bit of extra coverage
  • Tarte's Amazonian 12  hour clay blush in Dazzled

Eyes: First I applied the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Greed on my lids, then I used the Urban Decay Naked 2 pallette. I used Foxy as a highlight, Half Baked and YDK on the lid, blended out with tease and put a little Booty Call in the inner corners. I lined with Mally's dark brown liner in Espresso (I believe ... I will double check the name) the top lash line only.  Mally's fleshy color on the inner rim (need to check the name of that also). Mally Volumizing Mascara.  Curled Lashes with Shu Uemera curler.

Lips: I used the Too Faced perfect lips pencil, filled them in and applied Angel by MAC over that.  Throughout the day I touched up with Tarte's Adored Lip Surgence.

I didn't set my makeup.

Quick Question: Which Pallet Would You Choose?

Just wanted to ask all of you a quick question...

If you had the choice between these three pallets which would you choose? Or would you choose a different pallet?

  1. Lorac Pro Pallet
  2. Urban Decay Smoked Pallet
  3. Too Faced Return to Sexy Pallet
Let me know in the comments below which you would choose and why.

I would appreciate all feedback...if you have any of the pallets above, please tell me if you wear them more for day or night, and what you think of them in general.

New Product Alert: Organic Aqua Boost!

I think someone has heard my prayers.  No seriously...ever since Heidi (Jalapena2007) had introduced me to the miracle of  hyaluronic acid a few years ago, I look for it in nearly every skin care and lip care product I purchase.

Well, 100% Pure has just released a new Organic Aqua Boost serum that contains vegetarian hyaluronic acid.  It is my understanding that the hyaluronic acid uses moisture from your own body to plump the skin and locks it in.  In addition there are great ingredients such as cucumber juice and rose hydrosol to calm and smooth the skin.

I prefer to use hyaluronic acid products on my face and neck.  This serum is claiming that it can also be used on your hands and decollete.  Additionally, rather than being a regular serum that you pump or squeeze, it is a mist. It seems to me that a mist would go a lot further.

I really like how the 100% Pure products are packaged.  For example, their eye cream has a pump, and now their serum has a mist.

The retail price for the Organic Aqua Boost is set at $25 for 1.6 fl. ounces.

You can check out the new product here: 100% Pure Cosmetics
